Born to a second oldest father and a second youngest mother, 2Deep was born in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany at Ramstein AFB.  Everything about her is a two (2), from both grandmothers being born on February 8th to her birth date adding up to 11 with 1+1 equalling 2. And so she was born, with an understanding of balance and equality.

Growing up in different locations around the world help mold her into an open-minded individual. Her years at T.A.P.S. under Dr. Tonea Stewart help mold her chops for performing theatre and the trials of her early childhood helped her learn to express herself creatively in order to survive.

Auburn University (WAR DAMN EAGLE!) was the perfect launching pad for her theatre career, giving her a Bachelors of Fine Arts degree. The mystique of the then Chocolate City influenced her decision to come to Washington, DC to attend The Catholic University of America for her Masters of Fine Arts degree. Upon graduation, she began writing her own thoughts and ideas.

One night in 2006 a friend invited her to My Way Cafe in Laurel, MD. She performed a poem called "My Name Is..." and the rest, as they say, is history.

In the beginning was her word...

2Deep has certainly made a name for herself in the poetry community since 2006 by performing at Ottawa University (Canada), Cornell University, and opening for the late Gill Scott-Heron in 2009. She was a member of Busboys and Poets’ 2009 Slam Team, Word War II Champion, and the Busboys and Poets’ Slam Master. Having her Bachelors of Fine Arts and Masters of Fine Arts degrees gave her a solid foundation from which she could build her creative empire, Uncensored Inc.

She has stood on legistative floors to help get tougher laws for those who commit acts of domestic violence in front of children, and she has stood on stages to promote sexual abuse and mental health awareness. She is a poet with more than just words; she has a cause, a purpose for which she speaks.
